Naafiri Reroll Guide by Tristan

Currently it's believed that Naafiri reroll is weak, but it's very playable from the right situations. In this guide, I'll identify some of the conditions you might want to unleash the hounds.

1. Pulse Stabilizer is your first exo item

On the surface, Hyper Fangs seems like it would be the best Naafiri Exotech item, but interestingly, Pulse Stabilizer is better as shown below.

So if Pulse Stabilizer is your first Exo item and you have a Nitro opener, I would suggest angling Naafiri.

2. You have a strong artifact

Naafiri is also playable when you have strong melee artifact such as Spectral Cutlass, Silvermere Dawn, Prowler’s Claw, as shown above.

Trench coat is also playable but only if you have EoN+Sterak’s components early.

Below is a picture of BiS for each artifact (the reason why we don’t have Hyper Fangs on Naafiri is because we usually duo carry Naafiri 3 with Jhin 3, and Jhin 3 uses Hyper Fangs much better than Naafiri).

3. You have no other comps to play

If you don’t have a good spot to play other comps but have Naafiri + Sword/Glove, you can lose streak till 3-2 and spike allowing you to save placements.

Stage 2 guide

Level 4 Nitro board above.

Level 4 Exotech board above.

Your level 5 for the Nitro board will be be any Bastion, Elise, or Jhin.

Your level 5 for the Exotech board will be any Bastion, Dynamo, Marksman, or AMP.

Stage 3 guide

At this point you are either playing 1 of 2 variations, with Nitro opener or without. If you didnt start with Nitro opener, you can fit it in at 6 but be prepared to drop out of Nitro if you’re low on gold or have no RR augment because you won’t have as many stacks on the T-Hex.

Above is your board at 6, continuing rerolling until you hit Naafiri 3. Jhin 3 is not mandatory if you didn’t start with nitro opener or have AP items, which can go on Elise temporarily. Elise > Kindred because this is a Naafiri comp and dynamo provides something for Naafiri whereas Kindred doesn’t.

Late game

If you opened with Nitro or managed to 3 star some of the Nitro units, it’s perfectly fine to continue playing Nitro into the late game, in which case your board should look something like this below:

Add more AMP at each level because Naafiri has really good scaling with AMP. AP items on Elise can now be moved to Annie.

If you didn’t manage to open with Nitro or 3 star any Nitro units along the way to Naafiri 3, play this variation below instead.

Positioning

  • Most matchups you want to be the same side as their carry.

  • You want your main tank to be in front of Naafiri late game because Naafiri is very burstable.

You want Naafiri in one of these 3 spots depending on your opponent’s carry. If Naafiri isn’t burstable and has EoN, the top right/left are the best hexes because after popping EoN, your opponent’s carry will retarget on to Sejuani.

If you have Jhin as your duo carry, you want Jhin to be same side as Naafiri at all times, because his ability can sometimes bounce on the backline, allowing you to scam fights if Naafiri’s packs target their backline too. Jhin also provides Sunder.

Item priority

Glove>Sword>Tear.

BiS Naafiri is IE+HoJ+EoN without Exotech or an artifact.

Glove makes IE+, HoJ, and QSS for Naafiri, and also Jhin items. Extra gloves can be TG which can often go on 3 star Nitro units.

Sword makes EoN, IE, and also Jhin items. Bloodthirster can be used if you are unable to get HoJ.

Tear makes HoJ, and excess Tears can be given to Sejuani to help her cast. If you’re playing the AMP variation, excess Tears can be chucked onto Annie as well.

Other items are mediocre, avoid taking them unless they come with an important unit.

14.3 Thoughts

This comp was buffed lategame with AMP buff, it was already an early game monster but with this buff we could see it be better late game as well.
